This phase has become a cliche' from 1970s till know. Almost all professionals, academicians, businessmen, ect., will refer to this statement in order to produce more creativity among individuals in problem solving. Think outside the box has been widely used in architecture field as well. Especially during our study years. Mostly they are referring to the new way of thinking; far from rigidity & limitations. Thinking broad and limitless.
In my opinion asking someone to think outside the box you are doing nothing else but framing his thinking. Automatically you are giving him a model and he should try to get out of it. Instead of it why not just saying: Think infinitely. The infinity has no boundaries and gives us the possibility to further our imagination towards endless. Thus, to me think outside the box does not push anyone to think creatively. Moreover it does make the thinking very stressful. To me the best phase is: Think the infinity!
